As part of our effort to include giving back as an integral part of who we are (and not just something we do once a year), we have quarterly events to give our employees a chance to get involved. This quarter we hosted about 40 employees and some local nonprofit partners for a “Cheers to Education” happy hour.

For the two weeks leading up to the event, we set up an education and school supplies drive for employees to contribute things to three awesome non-profit organizations. We collected almost 1,000 supplies to donate to Seattle Central College Foundation, Year Up, and Treehouse!
Each of these organizations are non-profits that we’ve built a relationship with over the last couple of years by volunteering and donating. To take that relationship a bit further, we invited them to come tell us more about what they do, how we can best continue to support them, and how our employees can get involved—both with RealSelf and on their own.
To help us understand their goals and needs, the organizations brought people with hands-on experience ranging from scholarship recipients, to interns, to an education specialist who works with foster kids.
This fun event really fired us up about deepening these ongoing relationships.
